Moving into your Property – Important Things to Note:

Changing Address – ensure that you let financial organisations & other important bodies know of your change of address.

Keys – generally they will be provided on the day that the Tenancy Agreement commences (only when all monies & bond has been received) access to the property prior to move in or to drop off items is not permitted.

Usually you will receive a full set of keys for each adult noted on the Tenancy Agreement.

Ingoing Condition Report – this should note the condition of the property prior to the tenancy commencing – should include video, photos & description – you have 7 days to add to the report, sign & return.

(we recommend taking photos of any items of concern not noted on the report & providing with your signed copy).

Utility Connections - it is your responsibility to have the electricity, gas, telephone & internet connected prior to moving in. Sufficient notice should be given to allow connection to be set up. These services must be connected in your name.

If there is no telephone or internet connected to the premises, the cost of supplying that connection is borne by the applicant for the telephone service.

We recommend companies such as Move Me In.

Setting up your rent payments – set up your rent payments so they get paid directly when due (arrange a few days prior to allow for weekends & clearances).

Strata – If moving into a strata unit – there may be a requirement to let the building manager know so they can arrange covers on lifts etc also to be careful when moving belongings through common areas.

Contents Insurance – it is crucial that you have your own tenant contents insurance – it is important to note that should your goods be damaged by circumstances affecting the property (i.e fire, storm, power outage) then your goods & possessions are not covered by the owners insurance.

Enjoy your welcome gift from us and hopefully it gets you through the day.
